On Monday, Adolor Corp became the Philadelphia-area life sciences companies to back the latest hugs from large companies cash-flush.

USA based Adolor, who sells drugs called Entereg, will be acquired with Cubist Pharmaceuticals Inc for $ 4.25 per share in cash, plus the promise of up to $ 4.50 per share more specific milestones to Adolor met. Transaction valued at $ 190 million initially, up to $ 415 million potentially.

It is the purchase price is quite good for a company that has produced only operating losses since its establishment in November 1994. Adolor has piled up accumulated deficit of $ 539 million as of June 30.

The website is full of ideas on how to turn a can to treasure-iPhone free application of aluminate that helps the user set and track financial objectives for recycling, a turnkey toolkit that provides steps to recycling planning a campaign to raise money for charity.

"Increased recycling can also be the creator of the work," said Beth Schmitt, Director of the recycling program for Alcoa. "According to the container recycling Institute, every thousand tons of recycled beverage containers, between 1.5 and 7 jobs could be created by private industry. So recycling energy-rich natural resources not only helps us become energy independent, but it also creates a private sector jobs we desperately need in this country. "

Although it is very simple to recycle, this is not always easy. In some communities, consumers do not have access to recycling bins or know where to find a recycling center. That's why the website also includes a search tool recycling center locations and a list of countries that offer recycled trash through Alcoa Recycling Bin donation Program.

"In 2008, Alcoa take charge to increase recycling rates in the us for 75 per cent by 2015, and we can only happen by getting everyone involved," said Paula Davis, President, Alcoa Foundation. "Our partnership with keep America's America Recycles Day is the perfect way to engage the next generation of Americans, especially, in recycling."

To spread the word to students, for the first time, Alcoa is also sponsoring America Recycles Day recycling activities in the College football tailgating parties in November. Participating schools receive tailgating starter kit which includes t-shirts, banners, buttons and 500 recycled bags recycled.

DULLES, VA. -Day in and day out, in a guarded federal laboratory chemist Arthur Berrier dangerous synthetic drugs probe packets looking for new secrets of he can share with investigators before the criminal substance kills or seriously harm others.

This is a constant game of catch-up. As soon as he tips off law enforcement officers to different types of chemical compounds which change in medication, other forms than they appear.

Drug manufacturers can choose from the menu that is almost endless chemicals that they can sort, puts the US Drug Enforcement Administration at a loss as it tries to help States crack down.

From DEA research lab here on the outskirts of the capital, to the Office of the sheriff of a small town in the entire country, defusing the threat of synthetic drugs continues to increase.

Almost no one sees the coming disaster. The name of the wild and weird mixture of substances contained in medications that are constantly changing, fast rendering of the State or federal prohibition against those who are weak or contentious. Enforcing the new law against synthetic drugs are sometimes sold-dangerous

Manufacturers of tubines for airlines and engines have benefited from the productivity of lasers for drilling small holes in metal and other machined components. Their ability to drill holes at shallow angles to the surface at rates of between 0.3 to 3 holes per second has enabled new designs incorporating film-cooling holes for improved increased fuel rates, reduced noise, and less emissions.

Incremental improvements in laser process and control technologies have led to substantial increases in the number of cooling holes used in turbine engines. Fundamental to these improvements and increased use of laser drilled holes is an understanding of the relationship between process parameters and hole quality and speed

With the desire to augment the Laser drilling services, and bring value-added services to our all important customers, EBTEC embraced airflow testing. We became capable of satisfying the highly technical testing requirements of the aerospace engine component industry. EBTEC very recently was approved to provide airflow services for GE Aircraft Engine Company (Specification E50TF217). This is a tremendous accomplishment and as such EBTEC joins only three other high energy beam service providers with this successful approval.

Manufacturing components that contain many small diameter holes can be a cumbersome and time-consuming task. Ask any machinist to drill 100 holes that are the size of the tip of a pencil (or smaller) in a high temperature nickel-based alloy and you will most likely be told “no way”. Complex aerospace and ground-based turbine engines rely on these types of materials, hole sizes, and hole population densities. From round parts with hundreds (often thousands) of holes to complex 5-axis geometries with small holes, or simple 2-axis flat sheet geometries with small holes EBTEC provides an efficient, cost-effective solution to the hole drilling predicament: Laser drilling. This leads to another dilemma – how to inspect and maintain the hole size integrity and population without extremely extensive inspection times.

Solution: Air Flow testing. All of the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) for aircraft and ground-based turbine engines have encountered this inspection problem and have created specific air flow inspection processes. These inspection processes define a specific airflow for each part that has high populations of small holes, or is in the engine’s airflow path. The airflow inspection method gives feedback to the drilling process which facilitates the control of the hole sizes. Highly-controlled and targeted airflow parameters allow the turbine engines to operate at defined design efficiencies, as well as maintain operational temperatures at each of the specific components of the engines.

The specifics of the airflow process are complex, but simply stated, “It is a measurement of the difference in air pressure at the inlet side of an engine component and the exit side of the component”. At a specified air pressure, the Delta “P” (change in pressure) from inlet to exit, allows one to calculate the amount of air flowing through the component. Other measurable attributes such as temperature, humidity, barometric pressure are accounted for in mathematical calculations allowing for an extremely precise measurement of airflow.

At EBTEC Corporation we have been performing airflow testing for almost as long as we have been providing laser drilling and laser cutting services. These processes have matured along with the development of the laser system as a machine tool. Maintaining cutting edge technology has been a core objective at EBTEC Corporation over the years. EBTEC has invested in capital equipment, and will continue to invest, as technologies for laser machine tools and laser technologies mature. Currently EBTEC supports 16 industrial lasers (most are set up on 5-axis systems) for laser drilling, laser cutting, and laser welding.

(CNN) -A Texas man who was a supporter of the self-proclaimed Anonymous says he joined the ring of hacking claimed to be against one of Mexico's most violent Drug Cartels.

Barrett Brown, 30, told CNN that in the next two days he was expecting to receive thousands of e-mails naming alleged drug gang affiliated with the Zetas he had been told by a hacker from a Government web site in Mexico.

"It is very likely this is all a big hoax, (but) I'm more involved in this because of the possibility of striking a blow against the Zetas. … My problem is more about how we conduct these operations. I'm intending what can we do with information as we release it, "Brown told CNN in a telephone interview Friday.

Dallas resident, who described himself as a former member of anonymous and has often spoke openly about his involvement in the activities of anonymous, posted YouTube videos Wednesday to explain why he plans to join the effort.

"I have decided to support the operation, which I understand was controversial for a number of reasons. In this case, there's life depends on the balance, that the people who are identified as possible to be killed, "Brown says in the video, leaning back in Chair leather desk as he smoked a cigarette.
