Officials in Niagara Falls was considering going into business treating toxic waste water of fracking, natural gas drilling technique that involves pumping water mixed chemical to Earth.
City water Board says a special waste water treatment plant can handle more business since a decrease in the chemical industry is designed for.
Once treated, fracking wastewater should be well disposed to the Niagara River upstream from Niagara Falls or it can be reused in the drilling.
Critics say importing waste water should be the last thing to take into consideration the Niagara Falls, given its experience with the Love Canal disaster environment in the 1970s.
